A Different Point of You
Digital photo manipulation of self portraits.
It's a series about identity, fragmentation, dualism and the search of being.
Fragments of awareness splinter the self,
dismantling identity and reshaping it
into something abstract, uncertain, new.
The sensation of being someone, or no one, dissolves,
slipping into neutrality and blankness.
Yet a faint trace of the self still flickers through.
Shards of self-awareness,
painted with doubt and anxiety,
animated by glitch and fractures.
It's a search for disruption and distraction,
the breaking and remaking of identity,
layered with hints of millennial narcissism.
A vague aroma of self-acceptance lingers
frivolous thoughts born out of privilege,
yet ancient,
as old as the first moment our ancestors
realised 'I am'.

This is a journey without an answer,
a composition of scattered images
forever shifting, forever incomplete.
Truth and lie collapse into one another
behind the deconstructed image,
mirroring the abstract turbulence
in the back of my mind.
Once, I met myself in a dream.
I did not recognise her.
