Project: Animated timeline section for the video presentation promoting Sardinia's heritage at the 'Expo Osaka 2025'.
For the 'Sardegna Nuragica' promotional video showcased at Expo Osaka 2025, I was responsible for the motion design and dynamic video effects that open and punctuate the piece. Working closely with the director, I developed the animated intro sequence, a kinetic 2D historical timeline with map transitions, and custom kinetic typography interactions where titles and text organically merge with the landscape.
The video was developed to promote Sardinia’s historical, cultural, and archaeological heritage to an international audience, using animation to translate complex historical content into a clear and engaging visual narrative. The project combines cultural storytelling, motion design, and educational animation for a global exhibition context.
The animated timeline helps guide viewers through Sardinia’s rich archaeological heritage — mapping key cultural milestones in an engaging, visually intuitive way. The animation transforms static information into an active narrative, blending motion graphics, map animation, and contextual typographic effects that underscore cultural significance and enhance storytelling. The closing sequence features text emerging within the landscape, creating a seamless and memorable visual conclusion.
Quote from the script: “Today Sardinia is seeking recognition of a widespread cultural system that represents a unique phenomenon on the world stage, and is proposing to UNESCO 32 archaeological monuments capable of telling the story of the greatness of this ancient people.”
